Nearly 25,000 incidents of avoidable fatalities caused by fire accidents are reported each year in India. Businesses that were booming have collapsed due to disregard for safety precautions and set laws. A state-issued fire licence, however, can avoid this accident since it certifies that the structure (where the business is performed) is fire-resistant or unlikely to result in any fire-related incidents.
The candidate must adhere to specific requirements established by the state fire department for their commercial building in order to be granted this licence. State-by-state variations exist in these regulations, and the West Bengal Fire Service Act 1950 governs the granting of fire permits there.
Buildings with a height of 14.5 metres or more are subject to fire safety laws, per the WB Fire Service Act of 1950, to guarantee that they are properly cared for and protected against any fire-related incidents. The Deputy Director of Fire Services and the Director-General of Fire and Emergency Services have approved this licence.
It should be reminded that the fire licence is only valid for a year. It has to be renewed annually at the location of issuing. Two offices are situated in West Bengal.
